The airport access road is reached from Julius K. Nyerere Road. To reach Julius K. Nyerere Road from the city centre, head east on Nelson Mandela Road.
Transfer between terminals:
There are no shuttle services, but taxis are available to ferry passengers between the two terminals. Terminal 1 caters for general aviation and charter services, while Terminal 2 houses international airlines and airlines operating regional and scheduled flights.

Public Transport
Public transport road:
Bus: City buses are easily accessed from Dar es Salaam Julius Nyerere International Airport, with stops located 500m (600 yards) from Terminal1 and 1,000m (1,100 yards) from Terminal 2. Services run 24 hours a day and the journey to the centre takes around 40 minutes at a cost of around TZS200.
Shuttle: Many hotels provide shuttle bus services for their guests. Contact the relevant hotel for full details.
Taxi: Airport taxis are available for hire to any destination in the city. Travellers are advised to negotiate a price before setting off, as taxis are not metered. Fares range TZS15-25,000, and journey time to the city centre is anything from 20-60 minutes depending on traffic. A list of taxi fares can be found on the airport website.

Money:
There are banks, ATMs and a bureau de change at the airport.
Food:
Food is available in the Departures lounge.
Shopping:
There are both duty-paid and duty-free shops within the terminals, as well as several gift shops and a pharmacy.
Luggage:
A lost and found desk is located in the arrivals lounge. Porters are available to assist with luggage. Trolleys are free of charge and available throughout the airport.
Other:
Several travel agents operate at the airport. The Airport Medical unit located in the Passenger Terminal, Cargo Terminal and Immigration Area will provide emergency medical whenever and wherever it’s needed.

Conference and business:
There is a conference room that’s normally used by airport stakeholders for hosting meetings, seminars and training – call TAA (tel: +255 22 284 2402/3) for further information. A business lounge is also available within the airport for business and first class passengers. Several hotels in central Dar es Salaam have conference and business facilities, including the Golden Tulip Hotel Dar es Salaam (tel: +255 22 212 9351; dar-city-center.goldentulip.com).
Communication Facilities:
A post office is located on-site, Wi-Fi access is currently not available.
Disabled facilities:
Wheelchairs are available – passengers should request any special assistance from their airline at the time of booking. Services and information for disabled travellers are provided by the Ground Handling Company (tel: +255 22 284 4611).
Car parking:
Car parking is available in front of Terminal 1. Parking is charged at the busier Terminal 2. Parking is short-term only.

Car hire at Julius Nyerere International Airport is available from Tanzania Rent a Car and Avis (desks are in located the Arrivals area). First Car Rental is located at the airport to assist with renting a car and other rentals can be booked online. Alternative rentals can be arranged in town.
