About Hewanorra International Airport (UVF)

Airport news:

There are plans to open a larger second terminal capable of catering to the largest aircraft currently in operation, but as yet no dates for the project have been confirmed.

General airport information (tel: +1 758 714 9568) is available at a booth in the centre of the terminal. The St Lucia Tourist Board is also present at the airport, and can assist passengers with a range of services, including accommodation booking.

Driving directions:

Hewanorra International Airport can be easily reached using the East or West Coast Road, which loop around the island.

To reach the airport from Soufriere, take West Coast Road southwards; from Castries, take the road to Bosquet d’Or and then head south along East Coast Road.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus:Hewanorra International Airport's proximity to the East Coast Road affords good access to public transport. Public buses stop on the main road just outside the airport complex (journey time to Vieux Fort: 10 minutes; fare: less than EC$2).

Shuttle:Islander (tel: +1 758 486 1561;www.islelander.com) operates private shuttle services to destinations and resorts all over St Lucia.

Taxi:Taxis are available outside the terminal. The journey time to Castries is around one hour, and the fare is approximately EC$200.

Public transport air:

Air:Helicopter services are available from St Lucia Helicopters (tel: +1 758 453 6950; www.stluciahelicopters.com), which has a desk in the terminal (fare: US$165 – four person minimum).

Terminal facilities

Money:

There is a bank (open 1200 to 1630) with bureau de change facilities and an ATM in the terminal building.

Food:

There are several cafés, bars and restaurants at Hewanorra International Airport, including a snack bar in the departures lounge.

Shopping:

There are a few shops in the terminal building. Duty-free is available in the departures lounge, where a range of local and international goods can be purchased.

Luggage:

There are no left-luggage facilities at Hewanorra International Airport.

Other:

A pharmacy, first aid facilities and medical services are available on site, while a hospital is within 3km (2 miles) of Hewanorra International Airport. Most airport facilities are open from 0600 to 2300.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

There are no business or conference facilities at Hewanorra International Airport. However, the nearby Coconut Bay Beach Resort (tel: +1 758 459 6000; www.cbayresort.com) has events facilities, and many of the other large resorts on the island provide meeting and conference space.
