Airport news:

Major expansion works will increase the airport's capacity to 43 million annual passengers by 2025. Among the many ongoing projects is the Haramain Railway Station at the airport. The Makkah-Medina high speed rail will link Medina with Mecca, the King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah starting March 2018.

From central Jeddah, head north along Al Madinah Al Munawarah Road – this route takes you directly to the airport (journey time: 20 minutes).

Taxi:Fixed price taxis and limousines are available outside the arrivals area. The journey time to central Jeddah is around 30 minutes.

Banks, bureaux de change and ATMs are available both air- and land-side in both terminals.

There is a selection of restaurants, cafés and fast food outlets both air- and land-side.

Shopping:

Souvenirs, gifts, books and general items are available in the departure areas. All goods are tax-free in Saudi Arabia. Alcohol is not available for purchase.

Lost property and left-luggage facilities are available.

There is a large mosque on the airport site.

Conference and business:

Communication Facilities:

Public telephones and paid-for Wi-Fi internet access are available throughout the terminals. There is a 24-hour post office in the international arrivals area.

Disabled facilities:

Designated disabled parking facilities are available. The airport is generally wheelchair accessible, with adapted toilets, ramps and lifts where required. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking:

Short- and long-term parking is available outside the terminal building.

Car rental:

Avis, Budget and Hertz are among the international car hire companies represented at the airport, with desks in the centre of the international arrivals hall. There are also a number of local operators.
